Calgary Hitmen

Devan Klassen – Defence – Grand Prairie Midget AAA

25 Games Played 5 Goals 10 Assists 15 Points

The 16-year-old defenceman was called up to the Hitmen roster earlier this season as an affiliate player, appearing in nine games. Klassen showed a lot of poise with the puck and looked right at home transitioning from midget hockey to the WHL.

Jonny Tychonick– Defence– Penticton Vees

40 Games Played 8 Goals 30 Assists 40 Points

Tychonick was a prolific scorer scorer in Bantam with 77 points in 65 games played over two seasons with Calgary Flames Bantam AAA. In his lone season in Midget AAA with the Flames, the defenceman finished with 22 points, (5 G, 17A) in 28 tilts. He’s an offensive minded defender who isn’t afraid to jump into the rush to create offence. Tychonick has appeared on NHL Central Scouting’s midterm rankings at number 45 among North American skaters.

Riley Fiddler-Schultz – Forward – Northern Alberta Elite 15s

28 Games Played 21 Goals 19 Assists 40Points

In 36 games last season with the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers Bantam AAA, Fiddler-Schultz finished the year with 40 points (22 G, 18 A) en-route to being drafted in the seventh round of last year’s WHL Bantam Draft. He’s the nephew of former NHLer Vernon Fiddler.

Cale Elder – Goalie – Prince Albert Mintos

19 Games Played 17-6 2.21 GAA .920 SV%

Elder was one of four Hitmen prospects to take part in the Mac’s AAA Midget World Invitational Hockey Tournament. In two games, Elder went 1-1 with an eye-opening .980 SV% and 0.50 GAA. Last season with the Mintos saw the Saskatoon native finish with a 1.85 GAA and .927 SV% in 24 games.

Connor Brock – Forward – Calgary Flames Midget AAA

31 Games Played 11 Goals 11 Assists 22 Points

Brock also took part in the Mac’s Midget AAA World Invitational Tournament this year, finishing with three points (2G, 1A) in three games. The Calgary native was selected by his hometown team in the 10th round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft.
