Ethan Sundar named AMBHL WHL Prospect Of The Month

Calgary AB- The Western Hockey League is proud to announce the AMBHL WHL Prospect of the Month Award, presented to the most outstanding player in the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) each month during the 2017-18 season.

The Prospect of the month for the month of January is awarded to Ethan Sundar of the St Albert Gregg Distributor Sabers.

As the St. Alberta Sabers sit in the top spot of the Nitro North Division, Ethan Sundar has had a rampage of a month, helping lead his team to an undefeated 5-0-2 record throughout the month of January. Currently the Sabers sit in second place in the AMBHL with a 22-2-8 record.

Throughout the course of the season, Sundar has recognized himself as one of the most dangerous offensive threats in the league. With 23G-30A in 32 games, Sundar currently sits third in the AMBHL scoring race. Adding to his already prominent season, Sundar scored an impressive 16 points (7G-9A) in seven games during the month of January.

Annually, The St. Albert Gregg Distributor Sabers host and compete in the John Reid Memorial Tournament, which this year’s event marked its 40th anniversary. In a total of five games, Sundar contributed 3G-4A during the tournament. While coming off a strong performance at the John Reid Memorial Tournament, Sundar had a dominate first game back to the AMBHL on January 15th against Edmonton KC, netting a five-point night (2G-3A) in a 12-1 victory.

With the end of the season only four games away, Sundar and the Sabers look to continue their dominant league play and extent their twenty-two-game point streak as they take on the Leduc Oil Kings Feb 8th.
